February Wrap Up

February was a decent reading month for me, and I was able to finish seven books. Interested to see what I was able to read for the month of February, keep on reading!

What I read this month

Reviews for February 2019

Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919 by Stephen Puleo
Reign of Shadows (Reign of Shadows #1) by Sophie Jordan
The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves #1) by Roshani Chokshi
Rise of Fire (Reign of Shadows #2) by Sophie Jordan
King of Scars (Nikolai Duology #1) by Leigh Bardugo
My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

Favourite Read of the Month

My Plain Jane (The Lady Janies #2) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows was hands down my favourite read of February. I received a special copy of the book in my July 2018 Owlcrate box and I only picked it up because Owlcrate was hosting a read-a-thon. With the authors taking elements of Jane Eyre, the life of its author, Charlotte Bronte, and the original 1984 classic Ghostbusters, My Plain Jane was just the non-serious book I needed to break up the tomes of fantasy novels I have been reading as of late.

Least Favourite Read of the Month

Unfortunately, my least favourite read for the month of February was Rise of Fire (Reign of Shadows #2) by Sophie Jordan. I had hopes going into this sequel, given the fact that I rather enjoyed the first novel, Reign of Shadows, and saw potential for Rise of Fire to build off of its predecessor. However, I found the plot disjointed, the characters rather stagnant, and the last fifteen pages or so too neatly wrapped up.

And that is my wrap up for February 2019. Did you read any good books this month? Or perhaps you have written a wrap up post of your own? Leave a comment below!
