Tag: Guilty Reader Book Tag

Today’s tag is inspired by a post I saw while reading the Cole Family’s Welcome to Our Campfire blog. While I wasn’t explicitly tagged to do this post, I am a 90’s kid, and as such I feel uniquely qualified to participate.

Interested to see what has me feeling guilty? Keep on reading to find out my thoughts and opinions.

Have you ever re-gifted a book that you’ve been gifted?

I’ve never re-gifted a book that I’ve been gifted, but I have gifted a book I bought for myself to someone else because of lack of bank funds.

Have you ever claimed to have read a book when you haven’t?

I have claimed to have read a book when I hadn’t but it was when I was young and trying to sound cultured. As I have gotten older, I have gone through my claimed to have read list and began to actually experience them.

Have you ever borrowed a book and not returned it?

I have not borrowed a book and not returned it because I don’t check out physical books from the library and every book I borrow from friends eventually makes its way back to them so I can borrow more.

Have you ever read a series of out of order?

I mean, if you want to get technical, I read The Chronicles of Narnia series in chronological order instead of publication order, does that count or is that going to far?

Have you ever skipped a chapter or a section of a book?

I have absolutely skipped a chapter or section of a book, how do you think I perfected my skimming skills?

Have you ever bad-mouthed a book you actually liked?

I grew up right in the middle of the Twilight series craze, so as people began to read the novels critically and talk about just how problematic the relationship is I jumped on the bad mouth train. Now when people ask whether or not I like Twilight I always say that it was a part of my teenage years, that I do like the book, but that I do understand the issues with it.
