Tag: Netflix Book Tag

I mean, who doesn’t like Netflix right?

I can’t honestly remember who’s Booktube channel I was watching to get inspiration for this beaut of a tag, but at this point pretty much every notable Booktuber has done it so I figured why not?

Interested to see what Netflix and books have in common? Keep on reading to find out my thoughts and opinions.

_ _ _

Recently Watched ~ The last book you finished reading:

Hunted by Meagan Spooner – Review is coming soon to a screen near you.

Top Pick ~ A book that has been recommended to you based on books you’ve previously read

Wonder Women: 25 Innovators, Inventors, and Trailblazers Who Changed History by Sam Maggs – This book was recommended to me after I finished Almost Famous Women by Megan Mayhew Bergman, and while I have yet to read it, it has found a home on my TBR shelf.

Recently Added ~ The last book you bought:

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and The Draughtsman by Robert Lautner – I bought these at the same time so I figured both should get a shoutout. Hoping to get to both of these very soon.

Popular on Netflix ~ Books that everyone knows about. (2 you’ve read and 2 you have read or have no interest in reading)

Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo – If you are a lover of YA fantasy then you know of this duology. If you haven’t yet sampled YA fantasy may I suggest this duology? As for the two books I have no interest in reading, I try not to limit my book intake and as such have no answer for the later part of this question.

Comedies ~ A funny book:

The Martian by Andy Weir – This book definitely falls into the category of the book being way better than the movie. While I think Matt Damon was superb as Mark Watney, the writing team left out some real gems quote wise from the book.

Dramas ~ A character who is a drama queen/king.

Delilah Bard from the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab – I mean she is a magic wielding, swash-buckling pirate, they all have a flare for the dramatics, right?!

Animated ~ A book with cartoons on the cover

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition by J.K. Rowling – Remember the time when I tried to read this book before the next illustrated edition came out? I even had a read along going, and then, BAM, I dropped it like a hat! Well, I will have to finish the story of the boy who lived at some point, maybe I can get through this one and Chamber of Secrets before Prisoner of Azkaban comes out?

Watch it again ~ A book/book series that you want to re-read

The Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr –  I haven’t touched these books since my angsty teenage years, and while I remember loving them I do want to see if I still do now that I am older. Should I or shouldn’t I? That is the question.

Documentaries ~ A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone

Another Day in the Death of America by Gary Younge – I cannot recommend this book enough. Younge packs everything from politics, to true crime, to gun history in this novel and I feel that I am better off having read this.

Action and Adventure ~ An action packed book

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake – This book was just all sorts of crazy. Three sisters all fighting for one crown. One can control elements, the other nature, and the last poison. Each is deadly in their own right, and with the next book called One Dark Throne, you can bet your butt it’s going to be just as action packed as the last.

New Releases ~ A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read.

A Court of Wing and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas – Is it May 2 yet? I feel like I have been waiting 84 years for this sequel to come out!
